Movie Night: Disney’s Inside Out

Location: VOHL Pool Parking Lot on Saturday, October 8th, @ 7:30

Presented by the VOHL Social Committee: Disney Pixar present an inventive animated film that takes you on a journey from the Inside Out to discover the emotional roller coaster inside your head. After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness – conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. Rated PG.

The movie will start at sunset around 7:30pm.  You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks for this show.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. This annual event is held on the first Tuesday of October. This year the date will be October, 4th. We are looking for volunteers to dedicate one hour or more to hosting a small event/gathering on their street! Assistance will be provided as needed.

What does it mean to be a host?  You throw a party! Literally. Invite Neighbors to your driveway/sidewalk/culdesac, register your part with law enforcement agencies to have officers visit your party and have a good time.  The purpose of this national event is to encourage neighbors to know each other and create awareness that crime prevention started with people. Tina Burgio is coordinating this years NNO for VOHL, her involvement is only to recruit hosts to ensure every home in VOHL has a party to attend, help you on that path and put you in touch with other hosts/resources.

Let Tina know if you are interested in hosting for your street at tinamburgio@nullgmail.com.

The following streets are still needing hosts for NNO.

Still running thru the end of this month. We have donated as a neighborhood almost 500lbs, but they still need more help. We now have a total of 5 neighborhood drop off locations! Please look at your pantry or pick up a couple things at your next grocery trip if you can. Thank you for any help you can provide!

We have challenged Falcon Point, Blackhawk, and The Reserve. Today we know that Blackhawk is already at 2000+lbs, so we need to catch up!

Also, if it is easier you can donate money to my paypal address mancorbooks@nullgmail.com. We will purchase fresh produce and other staples they are in… need of. Thank you to all who were able to donate last week, they were very excited to have fresh produce to provide the families.

While residents organize and advertise their own individual garage sales, the Communication Committee will advertise the community wide garage sale.  We’re going to use a website called Garage Sale by Map again (it really drove traffic to our Spring Sale). You can register  your own sale including a description, date/time and photos.  We’ll use this link to advertise on Craigslist, Next Door and local FB swap groups.

Click on the “Add Sale” button below to register your sale. Complete the instructions and link to the neighborhood sale.  Tip: Use your address or street name in the title.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to email communications@villagesofhiddenlakehoa.com

If it should be rained out, the sale will be moved to Oct 22 & 23.
