National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. This annual event is held on the first Tuesday of October. This year the date will be October, 4th. We are looking for volunteers to dedicate one hour or more to hosting a small event/gathering on their street! Assistance will be provided as needed.
What does it mean to be a host? You throw a party! Literally. Invite Neighbors to your driveway/sidewalk/culdesac, register your part with law enforcement agencies to have officers visit your party and have a good time. The purpose of this national event is to encourage neighbors to know each other and create awareness that crime prevention started with people. Tina Burgio is coordinating this years NNO for VOHL, her involvement is only to recruit hosts to ensure every home in VOHL has a party to attend, help you on that path and put you in touch with other hosts/resources.
Let Tina know if you are interested in hosting for your street at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The following streets are still needing hosts for NNO.

We encourage residents to participate if they would like to sell their unwanted items. While residents organize and advertise their own individual garage sales, the Communication Committee will advertise the community wide garage sale. We’re going to use a website called Garage Sale by Map again (it really drove traffic to our Spring Sale). You can register your own sale including a description, date/time and photos. We’ll use this link to advertise on Craigslist, Next Door and local FB swap groups.
Click on the “Add Sale” button below to register your sale. Complete the instructions and link to the neighborhood sale. Tip: Use your address or street name in the title.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to email communications@villagesofhidde
If it should be rained out, the sale will be moved to Oct 22 & 23.
